Django, Grappelli, Eddie South - Classical + Jazz

Swing Interpretation Of The First Movement Of The Concerto In D Minor By J.S. Bach.

Been looking for this track all morning! I heard it on WNCW when they played it yesterday, but they credited it incorrectly both on the air and on the website. Took some serious detective to find this. It's smokin.

Nina Simone - Love Me Or Leave Me

Nina's piano solo on this track is brilliant. Very inspiring. What I notice most is that classical arch of her hand position and the clarity of her staccato.

Meade 'Lux' Lewis - Don't Put That Thing in Me

Meade 'Lux' Lewis on piano with vocals by Bob Robinson
"Don't Put That Thing in Me" recorded November 1930 in Grafton, Wisconsin, USA.

From an LP released c. 1975 entitled "Tell your Story" on the Utrecht, Netherlands based Oldie Blues label, release number OL 2805.

Found this on an LP I bought a few months ago and that thought it was a fun novelty tune. Couldn't find it on YouTube so I've done the honors. An exclusive track!

Kathy Brier, "After You Get What You Want"

From the Boardwalk Empire soundtrack comes this great song by Irving Berlin, which I intend to learn how to play.

Hoagy Carmichael "Hong Kong Blues"

From "To Have and Have Not" (1944)

Pokey LaFarge was asking me if I knew this song, and regretfully though I knew of the song I had to inform him that I didn't know how to play it - yet. I can fix that in an afternoon.
